Gov.: On behalf of the victims who died, the hundreds who were hurt, I want to say how grateful I am to all of law enforcement who worked so hard together - together - to come to this resolution.
Gov: Because of all these professionals who brought their A game, we have a suspect in custody tonight.
Carmen Ortiz, US Attorney: We have to evaluate a tremendous amount of evidence and then file charges. Thank everyone for working so hard, so committed, putting their lives on the line.
Mayor Menino: Thank you, thank you, thank you, to the law enforcement officials for all working together.
Mayor Menino: People in the Greater Boston area will be able to sleep tonight.
FBI: It seems like a month since Boston Marathon bombings, yet it has been just five days.
FBI: This was truly an intense investigation. As a result of that, justice is being served for the victims.
Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis: Four days ago, my city was ruthlessly attacked. There's no explanation for the savagery of that.
Davis: But I got to see what Boston police and emergency personnel help those injured, even putting out a man on fire with bare hands.
Davis: The citizens of this city have been incredible -- patient, endured heartache and aggravation.
Watertown police chief: To see so many agencies work together has been really great. To the people in Watertown: the community stood strong - you've done everything and more that we've asked. I'm extremely proud.
ATF: The prayers of every ATF employee will go out to the victims.
Suffolk DA Dan Conley: Our business is about accountability. Can't tell you how pleased I am that the second suspect was taken alive.
Q: What happened at the boat? Davis: A call came in - a man had gone out of his house and saw blood on his boat. He lifted the tarp and saw a man inside covered in blood. He retreated and called police.
Davis: We exchanged gunfire with the suspect. The hostage rescue team tried to talk him out of the boat, but he was no communicating.
Davis: The citizens can be confident that the threat has been removed.
Davis: Suspect is in serious condition.
Davis: The suspects came to our attention after the vicious assassination of a police officer at MIT and a subsequent carjacking.
The Globe is reporting that the suspect is at Beth Israel Hospital.
Davis: No report of explosives on the suspect in the boat.
