There seems to be lots of interest in the Ed Soliday-Deb Porter race in Indiana House District 4.
What races are you most interested in?
I'm in that district and I got a live call from the Soliday campaign today.
I've noticed there's a lot of candidates who are unopposed in a general election. What's your take on that?
Results trickling in for Porter and LaPorte counties.
Porter County has posted its first round of results. Gensel leading Stacey Whitten. Brickner and Reynolds in a close race.
14 of 128 precincts reporting in Porter County. 23 of 86 precincts in LaPorte County.
Jeff Good has narrow lead over Sylvia Graham in race for Commissioner in Porter County.
My best guess is the initial results are from close to the administration building in Porter County, which would be Brickner's base. Anyone know for sure?
Looks like one-third of the LaPorte County precincts have reported already.
In early returns, Brickner and Reynolds are virtually tied in Porter sheriff's race. We expect a competitive race there.
It appears to include results from Center Township, Portage, Porter and Washington Townships.
In the statewide races in LaPorte County, the Democrats are leading. Looks like the Libertarian candidates are siphoning off 5% to 6% of the conservative votes.
Republicans are leading the statewides (auditor, treasurer, secretary of state) in Porter County. The Libertarian Party is getting much less support there, even though two of the Libertarian candidates -- Karl Tatgenhorst and John Schick -- are from Porter County.
43% of votes now in for LaPorte County. They're moving fast!
When you're looking at legislative races, don't forget some bleed into multiple counties. What one county reports is for that county only, not the total for that race.
Not surprised by how close that Porter County auditor race is.
