But when south county wants its own system, it sounds somewhat like a racist stance, just as so often is the case in Lake County. It would be nice for the whole county to come together for once. And it would do much for commaraderie. Cops are cops regardless of where they work. To the guy who said don't fix what isn't broken, it is a state legislature mandate. Rich James
You're right Eric. The county has had five years to sort out a sound deal for taxpayers. Too many officials pulled blankies over their heads and hoped it would go away. Now we're at zero hour and being told we have to go with a no-bid contract.
No, it's not new. But good government concepts in Lake County are quite new.
Yeah, Marc, we are at zero hour and St. John wants to throw a wrench into what has been done. Where have they been for five years. It has taken so long because few communities were willing to give up their own turf. That is a daily problem in Lake County and ion fact all of NWI. Rich James
I agree in principle, Rich. But I don't think pushing for a better price is counterproductive. It should have been done years ago. So many dropped the ball here.
I can also see that consolidation will result in a more efficient - and broad response - to serious problems.
The law does allow for two centers. But we don't need two. We need less governmnt operations. Rich James
So tell me why you disagree. Rioch James
